What are Organisations?

Organisations help you categorise your plans in Brixx, similar to the folders on your computer. You can create multiple such folders (Organisations), rename them, invite other users to work on them with you, or delete them.

It is worth noting that every plan resides inside an Organisation. This is why even when you’re using a Brixx trial, you have an Organisation called My Plans and you can rename it. As a Brixx subscriber you can create multiple Organisations.

Why use Organisations

Organisations help you manage your plans. If you have 3 plans for your business, 2 to present to investors, and 2 for specific projects, then you can put each plan under a different Organisation and keep everything organised.

Using Organisations also helps you share access with your team (or clients) and manage what they can do with the plans. This gives you clarity and control over user access, and a consistent structure across your plans.

Who owns the plans in an Organisation?

All the plans in an Organisation – whether created by you or another member of that Organisation – are automatically owned by the organisation owner.

Please note that all the plans created in an Organisation count against the Organisation owner's subscription. If the owner's subscription has no plan slots left, then no further plans can be created until new slots are added (by buying additional plans) or freed up (by deleting the existing ones that are no longer needed).

If a member leaves the Organisation, the plans they created stay in the Organisation, letting work stay consistent and not impacted by a change in members.

What are Organisation member roles?

Each member invited to an Organisation can have certain roles assigned to them. Their role gives them rights to see, create or manage all plans within that Organisation. Here are the rights for each role:

  • Guest member: View all the existing as well as newly added plans.

  • Full member: View and edit all plans.

  • Power member: View, edit, create, and share plans.

  • Group administrator: View, edit, create, share, and delete plans, and manage Organisation members

Note: Both power members and group admins can only create new plans if there are enough new plan slots available or free on the organisation owner’s subscription.

The rights a member’s role gives them apply to all the plans in that Organisation. If you want a member to have additional rights for a particular plan, then go to that plan and give them extra rights. You can find out how in our Sharing and Collaboration article.

How to invite members to an Organisation

To invite a member to an Organisation:

  1. From the drop down at the top of the screen, select the Organisation for which you want to invite members.

  2. Go to the People page and click 'Invite Workspace Member'.

  3. Enter their email address and choose their role.

  4. They will receive an email notifying them that they have been invited to your Organisation.

If you are inviting someone who is not already a Brixx user, they will need to register first. They will be added to the Organisation as soon as they do so.

How to remove an Organisation member

Members can be removed from the People page with these steps:

  1. From the drop down at the top of the screen, select the Organisation for which you want to remove members.

  2. Click on the People tab and find the email address of the member to remove.

  3. Click on the 3 dots next to their email and choose ‘Remove from Organisation’.

  4. Confirm the action by clicking ‘Remove’.

What happens when your subscription lapses?

If your subscription lapses, all the plans in your Organisations are locked. This means that no member can view, edit, create, move or delete any plans until you renew your subscription.
